The Perfect Insider

Okay, so, this Japanese fairly short series is a Holmesian-style murder-mystery-detective genre. It’s apparently based on a book and anime. It generally lacks emotion and oomph, but I think it’s meant to be somewhat lackluster. It focuses on the cases with only a little regard to the main characters. With that being said each case bore resemblance to the other which made it somewhat repetitive.

There’s not much to be said about the plot. It’s about Moe Nishinosono and Sohei Saikawa. Together they help the police solve locked-door murders. Moe Nishinosono seems to have a knack for sticking her nose into cases involving dangerous murders, but it takes the both of them to solve the mystery.

I had high expectations for this. It was the first Japanese drama I’d seen in a while and, while the story was interesting, I was left feeling a little empty. The lack of emotion and reaction by the main characters, intentional or not, made everything feel… not as exciting. It’s hard to describe, but all-in-all it wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever seen. Intriguing, perhaps, but not much depth.

I decided to write reviews because every time I read a book (which is far less then it should be) or a good show (which is way more) I am just bursting with information that I want to relay to someone, anyone, because what I just saw or read was just so awesome. Please, enjoy! Disclaimer: I do not own nor am I associated with the related books, shows or movies or their consequent companies. This blog is for fun and information.
