You’re Beautiful

So this is a pretty popular Korean drama, because it has everyone’s favorite Jang Guen Suk in it. It’s also the always classic girl-disguised-as-a-boy story with the added benefit of K-Pop style music. In this drama at least there’s not as much singing as you’d imagine, but the soundtrack is very good. It’s also a unique story that just makes it so much fun to watch. It’s probably not a top-top favorite but it’s definitely an honorable mention.

The story is about a Gemma, a young woman who wants to be a nun, but when she’s approached by her twin brother’s music agent she finds her life turned upside down. Her brother Go NaMi is stuck in the States, but he’s due to sign the papers that will allow him to be a part of the very popular A-N-Jell boy group. Since this has always been her brother’s dream, the sweet and naïve Gemma goes with the agent to impersonate her brother. Things don’t go exactly as planned and Gemma ends up having to continue the ruse for a much longer period than planned. The trouble is she’s going to have to live the A-N-Jell team who are ridiculously handsome singers. Can Gemma hold her own against A-N-Jell and not blow her cover?

So, this is a very fun drama. It has a lot of great aspects about it, including great actors playing interesting characters. The dynamic and emotion behind the story is also very sincere and real. I really found myself drawn into the people in the story and the ending left me feeling satisfied, but also wanting more, which is what any drama should want.

Please, enjoy! Disclaimer: I do not own nor am I associated with the related books, shows or movies or their consequent companies. This blog is for fun and information.
